Listed Cottage Renovation, Wattisham

The renovation of this cottage involved several restoration tasks. Removal of the cement render and extensive repairs to the timber work underneath. After repairs, this was insulated with sheep's wool insulation, and re-rendered with traditional lime putty plaster. Fireplaces were uncovered and restored and all windows were replaced with new, handmade windows. A removable bannister was installed to allow access for furniture upstairs.

Restoration of beam and flooring at Alpheton

A sinking beam was rescued after investigations found it was rotten. As you can see in the pictures below, an adjacent wall was taking rather a load! A new pad and damp were made and the beam, after being cut back, sat back on it. The parkay floor was then patched in.
